Hilda  Hagins Staff Photo

Mrs. Hagins has a Bachelor of Music Degree from The Florida State University, and a Masters degree in Education from Troy University.

In addition, she is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, and in 2005 she was chosen as Alabama's Teacher of the Year by the Alabama Music Teachers' Association.

Professional affiliations include the Music Educators' National Conference, Alabama Music Educators' Association, National Music Teachers' Association, Alabama Music Teachers' Association, and National Guild of Organists, and National Guild of Piano Teachers.  In 1994, she was co-founder  of Wiregrass Music Teachers' Association, and she served as president of that organization for 17 years.  She is a frequent adjudicator for AMTA and the National Guild of Piano Teachers.



    Mrs. Hagins has taught classroom music at Harrand Creek since 1999.  Prior to that she spent 19 years as a volunteer leading the music program at Holly Hill Elementary School, teaching classes every week and coordinating and directing several student plays and programs each year.

    She is Children's Choir Coordinator at First Baptist, and there she plans and oversees a music program involving almost 200 children.
